Centre of Excellence on Soil & Water Management, RTTC, Junagadh organized the International Conference on Trailblazing Trends in Sustainable Climate-Resilient Precision Agriculture through Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing on January 23-24, 2025.
The Centre of Excellence on Soil & Water Management, Research, Testing, and Training Centre, Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU), Junagadh, Gujarat, successfully organized the International Conference on Trailblazing Trends in Sustainable Climate-Resilient Precision Agriculture through Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing on January 23-24, 2025. The event was inaugurated by Dr. S. N. Jha, Deputy Director General (Agril. Engg), ICAR, in the esteemed presence of Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JAU. Dr. Vijay P. Singh, Distinguished Professor, Texas A&M University, USA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. A. R. Pathak, Hon’ble Ex-Vice Chancellor of JAU, served as the Guest of Honour.
During the inauguration, three significant publications were released: a Special Issue of Plant Archives featuring 132 research articles (NAAS Rating: 5.59), an ISBN book containing 52 research papers (available on Google Play and Amazon), and a Book of Abstracts covering 224 abstracts. The conference featured distinguished speakers, including keynote addresses by Dr. Vijay P. Singh (USA), Dr. Biswajeet Pradhan (Australia), and Dr. Mahendar Thudi (USA). Lead lectures were delivered by renowned experts like Dr. Rameshwar S. Kanwar (USA), Dr. R. P. Rudra (Canada), and Dr. Ashish Pandey (India), among others. In total, 106 oral presentations and 103 poster presentations were showcased, with 38 delegates receiving awards for their contributions.
A Farmers-NGO-Industries Meet was also organized during the conference, engaging 150 farmers and representatives from various NGOs and industries. Thirteen progressive farmers were honored with the Innovative Farmer Award for their exemplary contributions to sustainable agriculture. The event was sponsored by several prominent organizations, including Silver Consumer Electricals, PIDILITE Industries, GHCL Foundation Trust, GUJCOST, Ambuja Foundation, and others, whose support was duly acknowledged.
The valedictory session was presided over by Dr. V. P. Chovatia, who commended the efforts of all participants and contributors. Organizing Secretary Dr. G. V. Prajapati presented a detailed report on the conference's outcomes and recommendations. This landmark event successfully highlighted innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture through advanced technologies, showcasing the visionary leadership of Dr. V. P. Chovatia and the dedicated efforts of the JAU team.
